Pebble is a new furry friend on the block. She’s a nine-year-old domestic shorthair breed.
Needless to say both my primary school kids are very excited! They have never had a pet. Some of us suffered from asthma and fine animal hair can be a trigger so having a furry pet really never was in the plan.
She came to us through my wife’s work place. A colleague’s mother had to move into aged care and the colleague had a dog who didn’t get along with Pebble at all. We couldn’t stand the thought of her being put down, as we’ve heard older cats/dogs have worse odds of getting adopted. So here she is - she has been very timid in the first few days so let’s see how she settles in.
